What is Twilio and what can it do? With Twilio:

• Introduction to Twilio Markup Language (TwiML).
• Call forward example using Twimlets.
• Voice and SMS example using .NET C#.
• Other cool stuff.

About your instructor:
Troy Marino has been whacking bytes since high school and programming in Microsoft .NET since .NET 1.0.  His language of choice is C#.NET and is still using his own data-access framework build on VB.NET.  With some hemming and hawing, he is learning to embrace Entity Framework and Lambda expressions.  He is the technical co-founder of StatPhone.com.

Ben will look at an Introduction to Asterisk (http://www.asterisk.org/) and Derrick will give a ten to fiften minute summary of phone systems.

2. Possible future topics: Phone systems and new technology with Virtual PBX and VoIP, Twillio (Introduction to Twillio by Troy Marino), value of direct, dedicated connection vs. VoIP.

1. Discussion of VoIP and Satellite connections.
2. Wireless internet discussion. Ernie has two wireless connections where they keep dropping the signal on the same hard switch. Who in Flagstaff would you talk to to help you figure out who to talk to to fix this? 2 approaches: Get around the problem or try to find out what the issue is. Might be a problem with interference. Possibly switch to a 5 Ghz switcher or play with channels.

GIMP stands for the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a free web graphics editor in which you can resize images, compress images, layer images, create graphics and more. In this seminar, you will learn the basics of GIMP by working as a group on a photo project to be determined. Please download and install GIMP to follow along with the class.

About the Instructor
Al Brown is a  hardware and software embedded system engineer and project manager from Silicon Valley with over 20yrs experience managing and engineering products from design through development and into manufacturing. He has worked on projects ranging from the deeply embedded systems inside hard disk drives to the on-board computers in you car. He has had roles from product designer to project manager for some of the largest companies in the world and some of the smallest. Now a freelance consultant residing in Flagstaff, Az., he is very active using Linux and other FLOSS technologies to develop usable and sustainable products. About the Instructor  

Ben M. Schorr is a technologist and Chief Executive Officer for Roland Schorr & Tower a professional consulting firm headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii with offices in Los Angeles and Arizona. He is also the author of several books and articles on technology including “The Lawyer’s Guide to Microsoft Outlook”, “The Lawyer’s Guide to Microsoft Word” and “OneNote in One Hour”. He’s been a Microsoft MVP for more than 15 years and involved with management and technology for more than 20. In his free time he’s an Ironman triathlete and a high school football coach.

 He currently lives in Flagstaff, Arizona with his wife Carrie.

About the Instructor 

Darryl Brown is owner and operator of 2b design and development, inc in downtown Flagstaff.  He received an B.S. Degree in Engineering at Northern Arizona University and followed that with a M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Oregon in 1993.  His career has covered many domains including researching parallel programming and super computing, scientific data visualization, deploying the first 911 call routing application for the Wireless Intelligent Network (on AT&T), leading the development of a high frequency automated (Black Box) trading system, and finally running his company since 2001.  He and his team at 2b design specialize in Web Applications, Mobile Applications and Web Design.
